The Institute of Cultural Strategy invites you to the “City and Music” conversation, which is implemented within the framework of the “Headquarters Culture” project. The event will take place on July 12 at 17:00 in the walls of the Lviv Philharmonic.
Therefore, the following questions will be discussed during the discussion:
- How do classical music institutions and creators see themselves today?
- How do you build communication with your audience?
- Doesn’t time require a change in the very form of presentation and organization of musical performances?
- What frameworks-restrictions should be removed altogether?
- How do you see the new season?
“Typically, classical music, its education and institutions are perceived as agents of preservation of tradition. This field seems to be immune to change, and if change does come, it’s very, very slow. In times of peace, classical music fulfills the task of representation and preservation. But the last five months have brought so many changes to every sphere of culture and the life of Ukrainians in general that even the most conservative tsarina cannot avoid disturbances. We will discuss all this at the meeting,” the organizers of the event explain.

Marta Kuziy is a pianist, executive director of the 2022-2023 season of the M. Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Ostap Manulyak is a Ukrainian composer, associate professor of the composition department of the Lviv National Music Academy named after M. Lysenko.
Denys Lytvynenko is a cellist, composer, concertmaster of the cello group of the Lviv National Philharmonic, a member of the Phoenix Quartet.
