Reading love poems: what will it be?
On February 18, 2024, the Franz Kafka Lviv Theatre announced the release of a new album, Poems about Love. It includes poetry of many famous Ukrainian poets and poets, namely: Yuriy Izdryk, Marianna Kiyanovska, Ivan Sokulskyi, Vasyl Symonenko, Lina Kostenko, Iryna Starovoit, Vasyl Stus, Hryhoriy Chubay, Mykhailo Semenko, Emma Andiivska, and Taras Melnychuk.
Now everyone can enjoy the lyrical lines of poems by their favorite artists. Want to ask how? It’s simple: the actors in the theater named after Franz Kafka took part in the recording of poems for the album, which can be found on YouTube and the Instagram page. The actors of the theatre – Nazariy Bodenko and Herman Hoshkador – joined the reading of love poems by Ukrainian authors. Their voices will not leave you indifferent.
Briefly about the Franz Kafka Lviv Theatre
The theatre group “Experiment” in 2009 founded an avant-garde theater in Lviv, named after the writer Franz Kafka. The theater was headed by German Goshkador. The purpose of the collective was to popularize the latest theatrical forms in Ukraine.
Actors conduct bold experiments, and improvisations on the stage, and use original technical means. There is a performance school at the theater.
In 2019, the troupe began to shoot the Harms Show YouTube show based on the works of absurdists.
In 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion, the theater organized a charity event # PlayForUA. Its goal is to raise funds in support of the Armed Forces through charity performances and concerts throughout Ukraine.
